抄録

Sulfate formation in eystine-media(its nitrogen source was L-cystine only) by Aspergillus molds were studied. Addition of other nitrogen sources (amino-acids, ammonium salts, nitrate, urea) diminished its formation. From cysteic acid, taurine, dithiodilactic acid, dithiodiglycol, and thioglycolic acid, sulfate formation could not be recognized. Only mercaptopyruvic acid was the precursor of sulfate.<br> The data accumulated lead us to postulate tentatively the following pathways of cystine metabolism.<br> (-SCH2CHNH2COOH)2→(-SCH2COCOOH)2→HO2SCH2COCOOH→SO4''.
