• A study on learning and workload in sewing work for elder workers

抄録

In this study, relations between sewing work achievement “Q” of elderly and its workload were studied experimentally with use of a model that simulated three kinds of sewing tasks. The simulated sewing tasks with difficulty levels in this experiment were as follows: Task I was straight-line sewing and an easiest task, Task II was curve-line sewing, and Task III was ring-line sewing and the most difficulty task. Results compared with those of young subjects that had already obtained were as follows:
(1) Workloads estimated by heart rates, critical flicker fusion, subjective symptom examination, subjectivity evaluation and NASA-TLX increased with a function of the task difficulty level.
(2) W-value, that is synthesized workload index and developed in this study, revealed that W-value of the elderly subjects was high in contrast with the young subjects, and differences of both subject groups were 55.4% in Task I, 48.6% in Task II, and 4.6% in Task III respectively in reflection of task difficulty.
(3) There were no critical differences of work achievement “Q” between both subject groups on Task I. In contrast, Qs of elderly subjects in Task II and Task III were smaller than those of young group.
