Abstract

In devising a land use plan for an urbanizing village, we should apply as much harmony as possible between urban land use and agricultural land use when carrying out the plan.<BR>However, in the later part of the urbanizing of a village, some farmers, now living in this advanced urbanizing areas, purchase agricultural land as substitute land, so their land becomes intricately residential land, causing a sprawling of the farmer's land.<BR>In this paper, we have analyzed these particular farmers' way of thinking regarding land use, according to the investigation into the actual condition and the replies from a questionnaire concerningland use, and try to study the process in which they increased their agricultaral landholdings and their way of thinking about land use in future.<BR>The results are as follows:<BR>(1) In the process of urbanization, farmers sell off their cultural land in the urban area, and purchase agricultural land in neighboring villages so as to continue the farming activities.<BR>(2) So in the villages around an urbanizing area, agricultural land sales are increased with these strange farmers landholding's increasing due to their selling expensive urban land and turning around and buying cheap village land.<BR>(3) These strange farmers desire to sell their land much more than the neighboring residents, since their land and the newly purchased land for farm used are distant from each other. In the end, these types of farmers have land sprawled out over a land area.
