Abstract

The survey of life science researchers with institutions/companies on their use of electronic resources is reported in this article. The purpose of the survey consists two elements. On the one hand, whether the behavior patterns of researchers with institutions/companies and their perception of media are the same of them of researchers with universities were investigated. The other hand, we tried the evaluation of institution from the viewpoint of users' behaviour pattern and perception of the institution. In this article, two surveys of researchers with companies on their use of electronic resources are reported: one is the survey by mail (March to April, 2005), the other is internet survey (March, 2008). As the result of the survey, the researchers with institutions/companies use various media as research tools, but the rate of use of scholarly journal is higher than other media. Moreover, the evaluations of information acquirement by researchers are influenced by the situation of information use on their institution, especially whether professional librarians are in their libraries.
