Description
The addition of Ar, O2 and He buffers resulted in a great increase of the NH3 laser energy and the number of NH3 emission lines similar to N2 buffer gas, when pumped optically by a 9R (30) line of a TEA CO2 laser. The output pulse shapes and the NH3 partial pressures were almost identical with all buffer gases under individual optimum condition. In terms of pump energy absorption, conversion efficiency and output wavelength among various buffer gases, the effects of buffer gases are discussed.
