Description

In Japan, the ambient concentrations of a photochemical oxidant (mostly ozone) and PM2.5 exceed the environmental quality standards. Appropriate and effective strategies are required to reduce these concentrations and achieve the standards numerical simulation using a chemical transport model, which involves emissions, transport, chemical reactions, and deposition processes, can provide quantitative evaluations of the source contribution. For example, by changing the specific emission sources, we can estimate the impacts of the source. Here we overviewed the researches regarding the evaluation of the source contributions over East Asia based on a chemical transport model.
