Abstract

New observation method was developed for visualizing subgrain structure on a chemical-mechanically polished surface for a ferritic heat-resisting steel that contained 12mass% chromium and 2mass% tungsten, using field emission type-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) . The backscattering electron images showed that subgrain structures could be visualized clearly without being influenced by the presence of precipitated particles.
