Abstract

During the past decade, there has been a notable increase in the number of computed tomographic (CT) examinations be across the world. In CT angiography, the vessels are imaged by using thin-collimation multislice CT scanning while a bolus of contrast medium is intravenously injected at a high rate to achieve a high degree of vascular enhancement. For acquisition of constant density of cardiovascular organs, we developed a mathematic algorithm for a multiphasic injection method that would provide uniform, prolonged vascular contrast enhancement for spiral CT angiography. Additionally, we applied the computer fluid dynamics (CFD) to the patient specific model of abdominal aortic aneurysm. In these studies, optimal results are obtained with good quality of CT image and the patient specific cardiovascular modeling in CFD.
