It was found that the construction of a perspective drawing of a solid figure by means of Einschneideverfahren projective transformation of a pair of principal projection or generally a pair of parallel projections of the solid figure that are arranged in arbitrary positions of a plane can be accomplished by application of the following proposition. The proposition proposes that if any pairs of three figures on a plane are mutually in a perspective relation having collinear centers of projection, the three figures can be regarded to be the projections of a spatial object cast from respective three points onto the plane.<BR>This paper proved the validity of this proposition. It also described the sphere of practical drawings that can be constructed by this proposition, the relationship to perspective grids and that the method by measuring point known as a basis of conventional perspective drawing methods is a special case of this proposition. Thus, the proposition was found to constitute a fundamental theorem that applies not only to the construction of perspective drawings by means of projective mapping but also to conventional methods of perspective drawing.
