Description
A 67-year old male patient was admitted to the hospital with the symptoms of left upper quadrant abdominal pain. Dynamic computed tomography (CT) detected a hypervascular lesion of 4.25cm in the pancreatic tail. The tumor was suspected to have invaded the splenic vein and left Gerota fascia. With a diagnosis of a pancreatic malignant tumor, we performed distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy and left Gerota fascia and left adrenal gland and D2 lymph node resection. The neoplasm consisted of epidermoid carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The tumor was diagnosed as adenosquamous carcinoma of the pancreas, pT4N1M0 pStage IVa. Four days after the surgery, dynamic CT detected multiple metachronous metastases to the liver (S4, 5). Eleven days after the surgery, the patient received gemzar chemotherapy (1000mg/body). But, the patient died due to the recurrence.
