Abstract
In this paper we give an account of the development of physical therapy and discuss the motor relearning program and the task-oriented approach as new physical therapy interventions. Physical therapy intervention for the central nervous system focusing on stroke, should aim not just to improve paralysis, as therapy focused on the practical aspects of daily living is being requested.<br>
