Description

Twenty four carcinogenic aromatic amines, known as certain aromatic amines, are regulated by a law in Japan. Analytical methods for the certain aromatic amines in textiles have already been specified by JIS L1940-1 and JIS L1940-3; however, one of the problems of these methods is instability of the amines in standard solution for the calibration of instruments. In the present study, we assessed the stability of the amines in solutions under different conditions, such as the solvent, temperature, and gas phase. As a result of investigations on 26 aromatic amines including certain aromatic amines, significant decreases of 3 aromatic amine concentrations were observed under certain conditions within three months. The best storage conditions for the stability of the amines in standard solutions have been found.
