Abstract

We evaluated the resistance of barley cultivars/lines against barley powdery mildew by artificial infection with race IX obtained in the field of Hokuriku Research Center, NARC. Twenty six among 106 domestic cultivars/local-lines were found to be resistant to barley powdery mildew. Three foreign cultivars with resistance to barley scald in field test were found to be resistant to barley powdery mildew, and could be expected as disease resistant breeding material.
