Abstract

A two-year-old Shih Tzu diagnosed as having solitary osteo-cartilagenous exostosis in the spinal canal demonstrated tetraparesis caused by compression of the cervical spinal cord at the C7 level. Laminectomy performed to remove the exostosis decompressed the spinal cord. Thereafter the dog showed significant neurological improvement, and normal gait was regained 20 days after surgery.
