Abstract

A disk shaped mass (30×25cm in diameter) in the skin at the umbilical abdominal wall of a 5-month-old male Japanese black calf was surgically removed. The mass was mostly apart from the peritoneal wall, and histopathologically diagnosed as malignant melanoma, showing nuclear pleomorphism and invasion into the muscle tissue and vessels. No recurrences and metastasis were observed for about 3 years after operation.
