Description

Experiments were carried out in an aquarium and tide pools to examine observations that seedling Stichopus japonicus rapidly disappeared after being released into the wild. Results suggest that rather than mortality by predators, oversight of the released individuals by the survey divers and also the speedy migration of the sea cucumbers are more important factors leading to the reports of rapid reductions in numbers after release.
