Abstract
As a basic work for oats breeding, weed oats in Japan were collected and classified cording to MALZEW'S system (1930) . One variety of Avelta strigosa, 32 taxa of A.fatua corrplex 3 varieties of A.sterilis were found to be weeds. Distribution of oats in Japan was described their habitats were studied. The adaptation of weed oats and the introduction processes of oats discussed.
