This paper offers a manufacturing method of the straight bevel gears by the forging process.<BR>In our forging process we used an upper die insert manufactured by the die sinking method.<BR>We investigated the strength and the accuracy of the forged straight bevel gears, and compared these results with that of the machined straight bevel gears.<BR>Furthermore, we tested those gears for the practical power transmitting parts of a certain equipment for 2 years.<BR>Consequently, we verified the practicabilities of the forged gears as the machine parts.
