説明
The purpose of study was to investigate a change of shoulder range of motion after abdominal muscle load test (AML test) in baseball players with throwing shoulder or elbow. We studied 36 baseball players with throwing elbow or shoulder. The average age was 14.2 years old (range, nine to 29). Shoulder internal rotation and external rotation with the arm abducted 90°(2nd IR and ER ), internal rotation with the arm flexed 90°(3rd IR), horizontal flexion(HF) and abduction(Abd) were measured bilaterally on the first visit, after AML test and on the final visit. The 2nd IR, 3rd IR, HF and Abd of the dominant shoulder significantly decreased and the 2nd ER of the dominant shoulder significantly increased compared with the non-dominant shoulder on the 1st visit. The 2nd IR, 3rd IR, HF and Abd of the dominant shoulder significantly increased after AML test in comparison with those on the 1st visit. There were no significant differences between on 1st visit and after AML test in the 2nd ER of the dominant shoulder and the 2nd IR, 2nd ER, 3rd IR, HF and Abd of the non-dominant shoulder. The shoulder range of motion on the final visit was close to that after AML test.A negative correlation was observed between the shoulder range of motion improvement after AML test and the age. We could notice of how the muscular factors accounted for posterior tightness of the dominant shoulder in baseball players using AML test.
