Description
In this research, the analysis was made to clarify the influence on the energy consumption according to the distribution of the used paper for paper recycling between regions. First, the inter-regional input and output was estimated in order to minimize the total distance weighted by the tonnage based on the present used paper demand for each prefectures. The result showed that the transportation of 4 billion ton kilometer and the energy consumption of 2, 053 lmillion Mega Joule would be reduced due to the minimization. Even if the demand of the used paper is increased up to 1.7 times of the base case, the total energy consumption was less than that in the base case by minimizing the total transport distance. Moreover, in the case that the capacity of de-inking is doubled, the energy consumption could be reduced to nearly 70% of the base case, and the result also suggested that large wide-area transactions were formulated in Hokkai and Tohoku regions, and the transactions within the regions were dominant in the other regions.
