説明
We investigated uric acid metabolism in 211 male athletes (18-29years) participating in various athletic events. Both the value of serum uric acid concentration (SUA) and the incidence of hyperuricemia (above 7.5mg/dl) were lower in amateur and second class athletes than those in professional or amateur top sportsmen. The mean value of SUA in 13 and 6 events were higher and lower than that in sedentary individuals. The incidence of hyperuricemia in 7,7 and 5 events were higher, lower or similar to that in sedentary individuals respectively. These results suggested great differences in uric acid metabolism among the various events, and that these differences were related to the type of exercise required in each events. We considered the main characteristics that affect uric acid metabolism were power, aerobic endurance and anaerobic endurance. Athletes who participated in events that required power and aerobic endurance mainly exhibited over - production of uric acid, whereas those participating in events that required anaerobic endurance mainly exhibited under - excretion of uric acid.
