Description

To study annual fluc-tuation of thermo-physiological characteristics, skin temperatures and tympanic temperature for the same thermal load in a climatic chamber were measured. Relations between each of skin temperature, tympanic temperature, mean body temperature, shell body ratio and the outdoor temperature were investigated. The experiments were carried out total 30 days in the period from August 1995 to June 1996. Subjects were five young male students in good health dressed in the specified T-shirt and sweat pants. Skin temperature showed seasonal fluctuation, rising in summer and falling in winter, fol-lowing the fluctuation of outdoor temperature when outdoor temperature was higher than 15°C, but stayed almost constant when outdoor temperature was lower than 15°C. Tympanic temperature also showed seasonal fluctuation, but rising in winter and falling in summer. The value of tympanic temperature from August to February showed about 0.1 K lower than the value from February to August. Fluctuation of mean body temperature calculated using shell body ratio, α- 0.1, became rather flat through a year, but the value of mean body temperature from August to February showed about 0.1 K lower than the value from February to August. The tendency was observed that the values of mean body temperature in August and in February were kept to be the same afterward, toward winter and toward summer, respectively.
