Abstract
Students, schoolboys and schoolgirls spend a lot of time in a classroom. In order to maintain or improve their health, comfort and motivation for learning, it is important to keep a suitable room temperature and clean air in the classroom. However, the results of a questionnaire survey, which focused on teachers revealed that the room temperature and air quality were not in good condition in the classroom. Despite there are accumulated study results on the thermal environment and air quality in the classroom since school health law have been enacted, there has been little improvement of thermal environment and air quality. School health law was revised in order to manage school environmental hygiene strictly. Although there will need to investigate the standard of school environmental hygiene, improvements of thermal environment and air quality are desirable.<br>
