抄録

The supernatant perpared from the homogenate of normal, acutely injured with CCl4 and fibrotic rat livers induced by an administration of CCl4 or pig serum was added to the culture media, and their effects on collagen biosynthesis by 3T6 cells was studied. <BR>Among these four supernatants, the preparation from the homogenate of the liver injured acutely with CCl4 showed the most prominent effect. The rate of production and the total amount of collagen increased more than 50% compared with those of the control. An addition of the supernatant of the normal liver homogenate to the culture medium containing that of the acutely injured liver, or heating of the latter at 100°C for 5 minutes seemed to supress the stimulating effect manifested by the supernatant prepared form the acutely injured liver. <BR>Each supernatant was fractionated into three fractions by chromatography on Bio-Gel P-10. All three fractions showed the similar effect on collagen biosynthesis.
