説明
Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) is a general term for severe blister types of erythema multi forme exudativum. It affects the oral mucosa, pudendum and eye mucosa stimultaneously. This condition can be etiologically divided into two types: drug-related and non-drug-related. The known causes of drug-related SJS are antibiotics, psychotropic agents and various other drugs. The causes of non-drug-related SJS include viruses, bacteria, fungi, food, collagen diseases and contact allergy. The authors recently encountered 7 cases of this condition in which erythema multiforme appeared in the skin after cold-like symptoms and subsequently eye or oral mucosa symptoms. In 6 of these 7 cases an oral provocative test (i. e. challenge test) was conducted using suspected drugs butit was negative for all of them. In most cases, elevation of cold hemagglutination (CHA) and anti-mycoplasma antibody titers was noted. In all cases, the disease was cured after systemic steroid therapy and treatment with antibiotics of the macrolide group. This paper deals with the patho-physiology and clinical features of mycoplasma infections and the mechanism for the onset of SJS, with reference to the literature.
