Abstract

A case of Gianotti-Crosti syndrome in a one year-old boy is reported. About one weekbefore the first visit to our clinic, spotted red papules developed in his upper extremitieswith high fever and sore throat. Physical examination revealed that he had multiple redpapules of 2-3mm in diameter in the both cheeks, nape and extremities. There wereseveral enlarged cervical lymphonodes. In laboratory examination, leukocyte count was8500/mm3 with 72% lymphocytes, and increased to 14700/mm3 with 45% lymphocytes twoweek later. Serological examinations showed negative HBs antigen, VCA Ig G×160 and VCA Ig M×40. This case was diagnosed as Gianotti-Crosti syndrome supposed to becaused by primary infection of EB virus. Remarkable improvement was observed afterone month.
