A case of drug eruption due to iotroran (Isovist 300®), a non-ionic contrast medium, was reported. A 43-year-old woman developed itching 6 hours after arthrography using iotrolan, and skin eruptions, which appeared in the next morning, spread over a large portion of the body on the same day. Fever, diarrhea and vomitting also developed on that day. Intradermal test with the agent provoked a positive reaction 24 hours after the injection. Patch tests with iotroran, povidone-iodine solution and iodine were positive, while those with other three contrast media were negative. Based on these findings, this case was considered not to be iodine toxicity but to be a delayed reaction to the agent.
