抄録

It has been reported that cyclosporin therapy is effective in the treatment of psoriasis. We studied the efficacy of cyclosporin intermittent treatment on ten patients with severe psoriasis. All patients assigned in this study were initially prescribed 4-5mg/kg/day of cyclosporin until the lesions disappeared more than 85%(remission) compared to pretreatment condition. Then they were divided into two groups, i. e. continuous treatment group (3mg/kg/day) and intermittent treatment group (3mg/kg/day, a couple of days off a week) by envelope system. We compared the total improvement, effectiveness and safety between the two groups in the subsequent twenty-four weeks.
The condition of all patients became remission within twelve weeks. Two patients were quitted from this study because of gastritis. However no serious side effects were noted during this study. There was no signifficant difference between the two groups in total improvement, effectiveness and safety during the cyclosporin treatment.
We concluded that cyclosporin intermittent treatment is an effective and safe treatment to maintain improved condition of psoriasis.
