The clinical evaluation for tofisopam (GrandaxinR), a known regulator forautonomic nervous system, on severaldermatological diseases in patients withvarious psychosomatic symptoms was performedin open trial (chronic urticaria, 3 cases;pruritus cutaneus, 2 cases; hyperhidrosis, 4cases; alopecia areata, 2 cases, post-herpeticneuralgia, 1 case). The final global improvementwas 100% in urticaria and 50% inpruritus cutaneus, hyperhidrosis and alopecia areata. The effect on postherpetic neuralgiawas slight. Side effect was observed in onlyone case. In conclusion, tofisopam (GrandaxinR) can be regarded to be useful in the field of dermatology.
