Description
A clinical trial of Medical Cream was performed using 17 patients with atopic dermatitis who had a check-up at dermatology of hospital affiliated to a medical school of Gunma University during Oct. 1998-Mar. 2000.<BR>This skin-care product cuntains 8% synthetic pseudo-ceramide and eucalyptus extract (quasi-drug). After 6 weeks application, utility rate in all 17 patients was 100%, and this was accompanied by a significant improvement in skin conductance and transepidermal water loss compared with those before application. This efficacy was significantly higher than those by 20% urea cream. These results indicate that Curd s Medicated Cream has a potential to moisturize atopic dry skin as well as to restore their disrupted barrier-function, which leads to clinical improvements. Thus, this skin care product may be useful to patients with atopic dermatitis for skin-care.
