We report a case of Enoxacin (Flumark®, abbreviate as ENX)-induced photosensitivity in a 69-year-old man. The pathomechanism producing photosensitivity in this patient seemed to be a photoallergic reaction, because clinical and histopathological findings showed an acute eczematous reaction and he developed eruption 7 days after stopping ENX. Photopatch test of ENX was negative, but photoingestion test was positive. We measured minimal erythema dose by using monochrometer and found that action spectrum showed not only UVA (320 to 380nm), but also UVB (290 to 320nm). We summarized and discussed 20 cases of ENX-induced photosensitivity reported in Japan.
