抄録

Skin examination of gas workers had performed annualy for the presence of pitch dermatitis from 1968 to 1974.<BR>It was concluded frequency of pitch dermatitis was directly proportional to the degree of exposure to pitch.<BR>Skin carcinoma due to only pitch exposure was not found.<BR>We supposed pitch dermatitis was caused by primary irritant and photo toxic reaction of pitch.<BR>Ointments, cosmetics, soap, glasses, mask, gloves and hood were less effective for prevention of skin troubles.<BR>Improvement of work-surrounding on a large scale was most effective for them.
