Description
Morphological aspects on innervation of mm. arrectores pilorum (m. a. p.) have been studied by Takino, Ormea, Boeke, Nodl, Jabonero, John, Garven, Hermann, Thies and Galente et al. However, characteristics or differences inage and region of the body or relationship between hair-follicles, capillaries, sebaceous glands, and m. a. p. have never been demonstrated too well. Thepresent report deals with the connection of innervation using silver impregnation.(1) In the portion where m. a. p. and hair-follicle meets, the vegetative nerve fibers innervating the m. a. p. connect indirectly through 1 or 2 primaryinterstitial cells or directly with nets of vegetative endformations around hairfollicle.(2) These fibers also connect directly with vegetative end form ationsaround the papillary capillaries, and around delicate capillaries in the m. a. p. The fibers connect directly or indirectly through 1 or a few interstitial cells, with centrifugal nerve fibers of deep capillary walls on the inserting parts ofm. a. p.(3) Terminal vegetative nerves, “Plasmastrange”, in m. a. p. touch atwall-cells of sebaceous gland though rarely.(4) Vegetative end form ationmakes up a fine delicate network on one of the muscle fiber in m. a. p. Thefree vegetative end form ation is not observed. Similar observations were madeby Jabonero and Thies through Osmium-Zinc-Iodide method.(5) The secondary interstitial cells are observed on the ventral parts of m. a. p.
