Abstract

Multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) 2B is a hereditary syndrome including medullary thyroid carcinoma, pheochromocytoma, gastrointestinal disorder, arfanoid facies, and multiple ganglioneuromas. Recently laparoscopic surgery has been safely performed even for the patient with adrenal pheochromocytomas; however few cases of adrenal pheochromocytoma treated by laparoscopic partial adrenalectomy have been reported in a pediatric patient. We present here a case of pheochromocytoma of MEN2B and partial adrenalectomy which was successfully performed utilizing the merits of the laparoscopic surgery to conserve the adrenal function.
