抄録

Thirty four cases of gastric cancer in youths under 35 years old were evaluated clinicopathologically as compared with 162 cases in middle aged 55-65 years old. The proportion of female was higher in youths. There was no signficant difference in H-factor, location, multiple cancer, depth of invasion, lymphatic invasion, venous invasion, degree of lymph node metastasis, conclusive staging, conclusive curability whereas significant difference in P-factor, macroscopic appearance, degree of connective tissue in cancer, mode of infiltration, histological type and pattern of recurrence. There was no difference in the staining of p53, Ki-67 and vimentin with gastric cancer in youths as compared to the staining reported by other authors. Although surgical results both in youths and senile patients had no significant difference, the extended radical operations such as paraaortic lymph node dissection or continuous hyperthermic peritoneal perfusion would be necessary for the better surgical results of advanced gastric cancer in youths because of having less preoperative complications.
