Description

We closed an intractable abdominal wound in an obese patient by using tensile reduction sutures. The patient, a 68-year-old obese man, had undergone appendectomy. After the operation, the patient developed surgical wound dehiscence which was difficult to treat. Then, he was re-operated on using tensile reduction sutures. Surgical wound dehiscence is sometimes difficult to cure in obese patients. Tensile reduction sutures are effective for treating surgical wound dehiscence in such patients.
