Abstract

A 42-year-old man was referred to our hospital for a pelvic tumor that was detected at the previous hospital where he had been seen for anal pain. A pelvic tumor was discovered by physical and radiographic examinations. A teratoma or a neurogenic neoplasm was suspected, but surgical resection by the transsacral approach was performed because malignancy could not be ruled out. The resected specimen was a 58 mm×48 mm×41 mm tumor with cystic areas and clot. On histopathological examination, a Schwannoma with ossification was seen, with no malignancy. A pelvic Schwannoma with ossification is very rare.
