Abstract
A 78-year-old man with dysuria after treatment for acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis had a high level of PSA and was diagnosed with prostate cancer after biopsy of the prostate. The cancer had infiltrated into the submucosa of the rectum and metastasized to many bones. Further examination revealed that there were two cancers at the lower rectum. T factor of the oral side was cMP and that of the anal side was cM. We first performed hormonal therapy for the prostate cancer. The hormonal therapy was successful, and EMR was then performed for the anal side of the rectal cancer. We could then safely perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy for the cholecystolithiasis and laparoscopic assisted low anterior resection for the oral side of the rectal cancer. We consider that it is important to first perform hormonal therapy for advanced prostate cancer and to devise the follow-up strategy in the case of duplication of prostate cancer and other organ cancer, the latter of which can await treatment.
