Abstract

The purpose of this study was to clarify the relation between the postural sway value and month age or sex of the children in the age of five years. In October 2007, the survey of the postural sway value of 59 children was implemented. The postural values, height and weight of the children were examined. Regarding the postural sway value, LNG, Env.Area, Rec.Area, Mx and My were measured for ten seconds by using Gravicoder GS-10. We did not find the significant relations between sex and the postural sway value. We did not find the significant relations between age and the postural sway value, either. Mx and My, however, showed a tendency of centering with ageing. Also, significant relation was found between height and the postural sway value except LNG. The relation between sex, age and the postural sway value indicates the significance of health guidance in childhood.
