Abstract
We developed a new enzymatic assay for glycated proteins using protease and fructosylamine oxidase (FOD). In this assay, glycated proteins are hydrolyzed to glycated amino acids by protease digestion, and FOD oxidizes the glycated amino acids to produce hydrogen peroxide, which is quantitatively measured. This assay has high specificity for glycated proteins, and the presence of other substances in blood did not significantly affect the assay.
