Description

Forty-eight cases of delayed union and eighteen cases of nonunion were surgically treated with success. At the shaft of long bones, intramedullary fixation with Küntscher nail, multiple Kirschner wires and Ender nails or plating with a KU plate and an AO plate were applied.<br>At the end of long bones, blade plates of KU and AO type or tension band wiring were applied.<br>Bone grafts and décortication technique were accompanied for some cases and electrical stimulation was applied for a few cases.<br>On the infectious cases, external fixation was applied and infection was inhibited with local application of bone cement beads containing antibiotics.
