抄録

"Futon" (Japanese mattress) was divided lengthwise into two equal halves to compare mite numbers collected by different methods. Mites were collected by different kinds of vacuum cleaners. No significant difference was found in the number of mites collected by three kinds of vacuum cleaners with vacuuming power of 230W, 340W and 500W, respectively. There was significant difference between the mite numbers collected by using commercial cleaner bags and those using handmade small bags. When a cleaner of 340W vacuuming power was used with commercial bags for collecting mites from "futon", blankets and "tatami" for a period of 120sec., more than 39.8% of total mites was collected during the first 30seconds. However, from carpets, the number of mites collected every ten seconds did not vary.
