Abstract
A 30-year-old female patient with malignant lymphoma was admitted to the hospital because of large mass in the left pelvic cavity and of severe anemia. Since she had refused blood transfusion (Jehovah's witness), recombinant human erythropoietin (Epo) was used together with both chemotherapy and irradiation; this led to rapid recovery of the anemia and marked reduction of the mass volume. These findings may suggest the possible application of Epo administration as a supportive therapy in treatment of malignancy.
