説明

The amounts of nutrient elements returned by litterfall and rainfall were measured in damaged pine forests in the eastern part of Shimane Prefecture. The dry weight of litterfall in a heavy damaged forest was half as much as that in a light damaged forest depending on the degree of pine wilting desease. The proprotion of leaf litter was corresponding to the species composition of the overstory. The nutrient return of litterfall in K2 was the largest among four plots, and the amount was about twice as large as that in H2. Amounts of K, Mg, and Ca returned by rainfall were larger, but those of P and N were little because of the absorbtion in the canopy. The amounts of nutrient return through rainfall were not different among four plots. The ratio of nutrient return to the nutrient accumulation in a heavy damaged foerst was smaller for soil accumulation and larger for aboveground biomass than that in a light damaged forest.
