MPEG-2 AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) は1997年4月に国際標準となった1チャンネル当たり64 kbpsで高音質に符号化を行うオーディオ符号化方式である.本稿ではAACの構成, 特徴的技術および音質評価テストとその結果について述べ, 最後にAACの今後の展望について述べている.
