抄録

Alpine subnival boulder pavements are observed near the top of Mt. Kiso-Komagatake (137°48′ E, 35°47′ N), Central Japan Alps. These pavements are similar to Type-II (Hara and Thorn, 1982) in the Colorado Front Range and are formed by granodiorite boulders with fine materials (grus) beneath them. A typical pavement KH is located at the bottom of a nivation hollow (Photo: 2, 840m a. s. l.) with rectangular plan shape (9×18m: 10°NE). Another small pavement (KI in Fig.: 2, 750m a. s. l.) which has humus within fine materials beneath their boulders was developed different age from KH.
