抄録

In this paper, we report the experimental results on the heat transfer by forced convection of air from the small particles made of thermistor which had been baked in approximately spherical shapes. Our experimental procedures were remarkablly simpliified comparing with usual methods by the use of thermistors and were very convenient for the case of small Reynolds numbers. The experimental results, which are applicable to co-existing domains of forced and natural convection, are formulated as follows : [numerical formula] where Nu, o(L) is the limiting Nusselt number, and the linear representative length L=2×(volume/surface area). The measuring ranses are 0.08<Re(L)<800 and 10-4<Gr(L)<1.5. According to the usual way, if we take the representative length D=3L for sphere (diameter D), above equation may be transformed as follows : [numerical formula]
