抄録

In this paper, the number of grains per unit area and the mean distance between grains on any cross section in a grinding wheel are derived theoretically from the volume ratio of grains and the mean diameter of grains used in that wheel, assuming random distribution of grains in the wheel. Their actual values on dressed surfaces of various grinding wheels are measured and it is found that the ratios of their actual and theoretical values depend upon the kind of grains and the grade of wheels.
