抄録

Prof.Tanimura already published a theory on the meshing of skew gears in 1939, and his work may be regarded as a classic in the theory on gears. He gave a formula of the relative curvature of the toothed surface at the meshing pcint and using the formula, he discussed the problem on the interference point of the toothed surface. But his formula is not applicable to the point where the specific sliding is equal to zero, so his discussion becomes comp1ex in some degree. In this paper a formula of the relative curvature of the toothed surface is given in a most general form which is applicable to the meshing point where the specific sliding is equal to zero, and the problem on the interference point of the toothed surface is solved briefly.
