Abstract

In the previous report the distribution of mixing ratio of a spray made by two impinging jets of different liquid are measured by water model. However, the results indicated only the mean value of mixing ratio of the droplets that arrived at a measuring point. It is still not clear whether these droplets are mixed before reaching a measuring point or after. In order to solve this problem molten paraffin was used, injecting from nozzles instead of propellants. The molten Paraffin was kept in hot state until it was scattered as droplets after impingement, and then these droplets were suddenly cooled into condensed solid state. Two jets were respectively colored by different dyes, so that mixing process or droplets could be visualized. Judging from the solidified droplets, it has been found that these droplets are already mixture of two sorts of liquid when they are flying.
